Music Educator

Ryan John is a full time music teacher at Léman Manhattan Preparatory School in New York City where he teaches the 6th-12th grade choirs, film studies, and instrumental group lessons. He serves as the music director for Léman Main Stage musicals as well as the coordinator of the Léman Conservatory private lesson program. The Digital Music course he created was featured in Business Insider and has fostered award-winning student work. Ryan holds a Bachelor of Music in Education with a minor in Music Theater and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Westminster Choir College of Rider University.
He is a frequent presenter at conferences in the United States and abroad. Ryan serves on the editorial board for Visions of Research in Music Education, the peer-reviewed journal published through the Westminster Center for Community Engagement and Critical Pedagogy. He is the author of Canvas LMS Course Design from Packt Publishing and is a co-author with Frank Abrahams of Planning Instruction in Music and Becoming Musical from GIA Publications.
